I am running ICON-CLM using ICON 2025.10 with SPICE 2.4. My setup uses a custom Zonda-generated limited-area domain over Eastern Türkiye (eastern_turkey011_compact_v2).
For production climate simulations, I would like to use:
inwp_radiation = 4
irad_aero = 18
I understand from the ICON documentation and from scripts/preprocessing/interpolate_KinneAero.sh that the Kinne background aerosol data must first be interpolated to the target ICON grid.
The preprocessing script refers to the following global source files:
aeropt_kinne_sw_b14_fin_1850_rast.nc
aeropt_kinne_sw_b14_coa_rast.nc
aeropt_kinne_lw_b16_coa_rast.nc
located at DKRZ under:
/pool/data/ICON/grids/public/mpim/independent/aerosol_kinne/
The SPICE 2.4 data archive available to me contains pre-interpolated Kinne files for standard ICON-CLM domains, as well as the MACv2 simple-plume input, but not the global Kinne source files required for my custom grid.
Is there a public download location for these three global Kinne files, or could they be made available to users who do not have access to the DKRZ /pool filesystem?
My intention is to use the official interpolate_KinneAero.sh workflow to interpolate the original Kinne data directly to my custom ICON grid, rather than remapping from an already interpolated regional product.
If there is a different recommended workflow for using irad_aero=18 with custom ICON-CLM domains, I would also be grateful for guidance.
Thanks
