Running release-2026.04-public with ldiagnose_tke = .true

Hello!

I compiled ICON 2026.04 using ./config/dkrz/levante.intel --enable-comin --enable-bundled-python=comin.

For my experiment I need to set ldiagnose_tke in the io_nml to true, but then I get this error:
4: FINISH PE: 4 mo_multifile_restart_patch_data:multifilePatchData_createCollectors: ndims > 3 is not supported
If I don’t set ldiagnose_tke to true, my simulation runs successfully.

Has someone successfully run a simulation with ldiagnose:tke=.true. or has an idea what causes this error?

Try setting io_nml:restart_write_mode = "". ldiagnose_tke creates 4D restart variables, which are not supported by the multifile restart machinery. With that setting, either PE#0 or a single dedicated restart process takes over the writing of restart files, instead of all workers or all dedicated restart processes.
