Minimize loss of information on vertical interpolation from ICON model levels

Interpolation normally leads to a (minimal) loss of information from the original to the interpolated data.

Thus, specifically regarding vertical interpolation, using output derived on ICON model levels is more accurate than using vertically interpolated data on e.g. pressure layers.

What is the preferred method to vertically interpolate temperature (GRIB2: T), pressure (GRIB2: P), and specific humidity (GRIB2: QV) using ICON model levels.

Thanks in advance!
